FLOORSHIELD Protective coating for concrete or timber floor

Shieldcoat’s FLOORSHIELD is hard wearing acrylic protective coating for both concrete and timber floors. FLOORSHIELD comes in 15 litre pails, is easy to use and washes up in water.

Shieldcoat’s FLOORSHIELD is a water based hybrid polyurethane resin floor coating specifically designed for concrete, timber floors, stamped or stencilled concrete and ceramic tiles. FLOORSHIELD comes in colours or clear to suit your situation. Shieldcoat’s FLOORSHIELD can be used as a sealer or more for aesthetics, either way it is just as suitable and provides excellent protection to the surface that you are coating.

Shieldcoat has chosen a specific resin for FLOORSHIELD, the resin’s characteristics including excellent durability, very hard wearing, great gloss levels, flexible once it dries and long pot life to make it easy to apply and washes up in water. These qualities make it really stand out against 2 pac floor coatings that have a short pot life, will not wash up in water and are messy. FLOORSHIELD can be applied by a long nap roller. These characteristics in Shieldcoat’s FLOORSHIELD give it excellent longevity and you great value!

Before applying any clear sealer like FLOORSHIELD to your timber floor you will need to sand it back to the timber thoroughly. Then there is no need to apply a separate sealer, just 3 coats of FLOORSHIELD.

Before applying any concrete paint like FLOORSHIELD to your bare concrete floor you will need to clean it thoroughly with a product like MOULDSHIELD C. Then there is no need to apply a separate sealer, just 3 coats of FLOORSHIELD.

FLOORSHIELD is moderately oil resistant. FLOORSHIELD can handle oil being spilt on it, if it is not left lying on the paint for an extended period of time, otherwise the oil will eventually soften the paint and stain it. If you clean the spillage off as soon as possible then FLOORSHIELD will be suitable. However, if you are needing a more durable coating then Shieldcoat's CONCRESHIELD 2 PAC (All Colours) would be more suitable to your application.

FLOORSHIELD becomes slip resistant with the addition of either Shieldcoat's ANTI-SLIP 1- (Refined Silica) by sprinkling onto the first coat after it has been applied and before it dries, or mix ANTI-SLIP 2- (Wax Beads) that are mixed into the pails before applying the first coat or sprinkle Shieldcoat's ANTI-SLIP 3- (Refined Silica) onto the first coat of FLOORSHIELD after it has been applied and before it dries, then the second coat goes over the top and locks the ANTI-SLIP in.

In the top right corner of this page there is a coverage calculator in a blue box. All you need to do is type in how many coats you will need to apply, then the dimensions OR the square meters that you need to cover, then press the red tick box, the calculator will work out the quantity that you will need to do your job.
